To start off 2012 I’d like to express my gratitude for the past year and propose a challenge for the new one. Thanks to all my musician friends who brought richness to my life by playing, jamming and performing with me. I can’t imagine my life without you! Thanks to the strangers in various communities – restaurant owners, hosts, and other players – who made me feel welcome and appreciated in their musical homes. Thanks to those who came to listen and gave your support and friendship.
And here is the challenge:
– If you have been at home practising but have let your music out to play in public,
– If you have been coming out to a jam as a listener and supporter but have not shared your voice with the group,
– If you have wondered what it might be like to sing into a mic or lead a song in a song circle,
Make 2012 the year you come out to play, find your voice, or have your moment in the spotlight. And when you do, share your story here. You might inspire someone else to do the same.
